The Kiwanis Club
of Bellmore supports local families, as needed
and the St. Barnabas Food Pantry in Bellmore,
this is a non-denominational food pantry open to
anyone in need. We donate non perishable foods,
boxes and hams. The boxes are filled with food
and distributed by the Food Pantry.
The food pantry
informs us on a yearly basis how many boxes and
hams they need and when they need it by. This
year, the Kiwanis club of Bellmore bought the
boxes of food (80) and hams (66) which will be
delivered Friday and Saturday, the 18th and 19th
of December.
Our
Key Clubs
collect non-perishable foods at the High Schools
and at fund drives at the King Kullen
supermarket. The
Key Club at John F.
Kennedy has approximately 175 members
and
Mepham High School Key
Club has 125 members. The key Clubs
host food and coat drives, have blood drives
twice a year and collect supplies for our troops
overseas.
Additionally, the
Aktion Club of Nassau Boces RKS at Bellmore JFK
assisted the Food Pantry with putting together
and filling some of the 80+ boxes of food.
Thank you
from the Food Pantry:
The community
of St. Barnabas the Apostle is very grateful
for your generous donation of 66 canned hams
for our needy families during this holiday
season. Our clients expressed how happy they
were to receive the ham and were delighted
to be able to provide a special Christmas
meal for their family. Your kindness
certainly made many of our clients very
happy. Please know that your generosity and
concern for the poor is very much
appreciated.
May this New
Year be as much of a blessing on you as you
have been to those in need. In the name of
St. Vincent de Paul and St. Barnabas
Outreach, thank you so very much.
Sincerely,
Susan L. Brucia
Outreach Director
