Key Club Objectives

JFK Key Club Welcomes Vincent Gaynor
Vincent Gaynor spoke at our Key Club meeting. His infant daughter, Sophia, has spinal muscular atrophy, which is fatal. 2 of our Key Clubbers have organized a fund raising effort, they gave out 5 pink rubber bracelets to every key clubber at the meeting, the bracelets will sell for a 5 dollar donation. It was a very emotional, moving experience. More info available at www.sophiascure.com

JFK Key Club works with Kiwanis to Help Haiti (info)
The JFK Key Club has been collecting much needed supplies for the people of Haiti. The student spent an afternoon boxing everything up for Kiwanian Seth Meyerowitz who then delivered it to the Uniondale Fire Department. The Key Clubbers will also be giving up their lunch periods to collect loose change from the students in the JFK cafeteria. Everything counts!

JFK Key Club Joins Kiwanis at the Bellmore Family Street Fair
Special Thanks to the JFK Key Club for their help at the Kiwanis Booth at the Bellmore Family Street Fair. With their help we were able to serve up some of the best Cotton Candy, Daiquiris and Nachos & Cheese EVER!

Awards Night
It was a very special night on October 6, 2009. The Kiwanis Club of the Bellmores hosted the TOP TEN Key Clubbers from the 2009 School Year for a special AWARDS Night. Dave Denenberg was in attendance and presented the Key Clubbers with an additional award. Many of the youngster's parents were present and everyone had a very nice evening. The event was held at our favorite Bellmore Restaurant, Piccolos.

Convention Info

The Kiwanis Key Club's New York District Convention, sometimes affectionately dubbed DCON, is a weekend convention bringing together approximately 1,000 Key Club members and their advisors from all around New York state.

The goals are to introduce new programs, present awards to outstanding clubs, conduct the organization's business, attend educational workshops, and elect District Officers for the upcoming year. Key clubbers share in laughter and tears experiencing motivational speakers, evening dances, scavenger hunts and other games, all while learning how to be a more productive member.

Officers attend workshops specifically designed to train them for their position, teaching them their core roles and allowing them to learn from others who share their responsibilities. In 48 short hours, members often form strong friendships with fellow do-gooders from all ends of New York state.
