Merrick Kiwanis Hosts March's Divisional
We had a very nice evening joining the Merrick
Kiwanis Club and the rest of the Long Island South
Central Division. Some awards were given out
including 3 for the Bellmore Club. |

General Meeting
We had a really great meeting with a few guest
speakers and we welcomed back some members who
have not been to a meeting in a while. We
had one of the highest attendance counts at this
meeting in more than 6 moths.

Bellmore Kiwanis Purchases
Calculators for 10th Grade Class in Africa
In
March 2010, the Kiwanis Club of the Bellmores
purchased calculators for a class of 10th
graders in Africa. The students need these
calculators to help them pass a required math
test and continue on to 11th grade. |

2-12-2010 JFK Key Club &
Mepham Student Government & Key Club Help Haiti
The Mepham Student Government, under the
advisement of teacher Mary Corbelli have been a
great source of support for our efforts.
Combined efforts of Kennedy & Mepham Students &
Teachers have helped us collect 50+ boxes of Food &
Medical Supplies and dozens of bags of clothing.

General
Meeting
Our first general meeting of 2010 went GREAT!
Attendance is up and general club moral is really
high.
We
are looking forward to a great
Divisional next
week, January 11 at Antonett's
in Bellmore. It will start at 6:30 and the cost is $24/person. We
discussed some points for the upcoming
35th Annual Pancake Breakfast
which is scheduled for April 11. We
also discussed the
25th Annual Nassau County
Strawberry Festival which is scheduled
for June 2nd - June 6th. We
had a pretty casual meeting and look forward to
welcoming our fellow Kiwanians to our divisional. |

Food Pantry: Holiday Hams/Food
Donations
As in the past, this year we have donated boxes of
food and hams to our local Food Pantry for holiday
food delivery to needy families in our community

Village
Kiwanians were in attendance at this year's Holiday Tree
Lighting. It was a fun night and it was great to ring

2009 Street
Fair
Bad weather "strikes" again...
This year's Bellmore Family Street Fair had to be
postponed 1 week due to inclement weather.
Even with the postponement, and some poor weather on
Saturday, everyone made the most out of the
2009 Street Fair,
and we all managed to have a GREAT weekend. A
VERY SPECIAL thank you goes out to the Bellmore John
F. Kennedy & Mepham Key Clubs for their help with
the event. As always, the clubs came out in
force to help with selling Cotton Candy, Strawberry
Daiquiris, and new this year, Nachos & Cheese!

Awards
Night
It was a very special night on October 6, 2009.
The Kiwanis Club of the Bellmores hosted the TOP TEN
Key Clubbers from the 2009 School Year for a special
AWARDS Night. Dave Denenberg was in attendance
and presented the Key Clubbers with an additional
award. Many of the youngster's parents were
present and everyone had a very nice evening.
The event was held at our favorite Bellmore
Restaurant, Piccolos.
