Exciting News!

A new member, Chris Barron, gave an application in and we have a commitment from two more, soon to be members. I’ll report on that when we get the applications in hand, but it would make Five New Members Since October.

It would be GREAT to see all of our past/current members at a meeting and/or special event. I look forward to our next scheduled night meeting on Tues. 7/1, and hope to see more of you there.

GREAT things are happening with this GREAT club. If you have not been to a meeting in a while you are missing out. If you are a prospective member, come down and see what you can bring to Kiwanis and the great things Kiwanis can bring to you!

The Bellmore Kiwanis Club is a very proud club.  With the help of outstanding members like President John Monks, Co-President Kevin Lyons, John Burke and many others, the club is beginning to take the necessary steps to being as prosperous as it once was.

We had a great Inter-club with the Garden City Kiwanis. It is always exciting to interact with other clubs and share news about events, past and future. Many thanks to Arthur Anderson for bringing his members, Louis, Rich and Rodger, to Bellmore. We would also like to thank our Lt. Governor Mary Burns and her court for attending: Janice, Denise , Mickie and our next Lt Gov. Jo-ann. Thanks so much!

We invited Garden City to join us for the Long Island Golf Classic - 7/28 at Harbor Links.

We also set a tentative date for our club fishing trip, Tues. 7/22, check your calenders.

We look forward to getting together with Garden City again, either on the links, on a fishing trip or at a GC meeting.

Thanks,
President – John J. Monks

The Bellmore Kiwanis and Lions Clubs would like to thank everyone for attending the Strawberry Festival this year. We had a very good year, the weather cooperated and the crowds came out. I would like to thank all the volunteers that attended and helped man the stations as well as with the set-up and break down.

A special thanks must be given to Elm Air Conditioning for their very generous help with a lift gate truck and manpower. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

The success of the festival will help support our local clubs, The Kiwanis Club of the Bellmores and The Lions Club of Bellmore. The monies raised will go to Community Projects as well as Scholarships for local kids. Furthermore, PTA programs, Local Charities and children with needs in our community will all benefit from the profits of this yea’s Strawberry Festival

As President of the Kiwanis Club of Bellmore, I am very proud of all the work put into making this festival such a success; this includes Kiwanis and Lion Club members, Key Club members from Kennedy and Mepham High Schools, members from many of the local PTA’s and the volunteer fire and EMS personnel.

I would also like to thank our local bakery “A Taste of Home Bakery” for the outstanding job they did providing everything Strawberry. Festival patrons loved the food and the bakery did a great job.

*** UPCOMING EVENT ***
